Tall male Sukuma figure
From Northern Tanzania by Lake Nyanza (Victoria)
late 19th to early 20th Century.
Material: Wood and hair with nail pegs through the arms, textile, bones as teeth also old paint especially defined on the legs.
The sculpture features a tall thin style similar to Swiss/French sculptor Alberto Giacometti and to those sculptures of the Nyamwezi tribe because they both were one tribe before a war separated them into two tribes. Call for price.
