This is one of the best examples of a mystical, powerful presiding authority such as a chief or king. They ruled fearlessly and with confidence, evinced by the hands being held on the lower stomach where it was believed human power exists. The central hole in the upper abdomen would be filled with magical power, activating the piece. The many nails indicate wishes and special requests for desires and needs to be met. The stance of this piece, especially the position of the head indicates pride, power and survival. Part of the beard is missing. Individuals would also use these figures for their own needs and to help with achieving their goals. Call for price.
